I a 27 year old parent of 3. I heard about flexible  jobs in medical transcription that can enable me to work from home. I would like to be able to stay at home and take care of my children instead of having someone else watch them during the day. I also would like to be able to spend more time with them. Unlike having a normal work hours and having to work for someone and be gone away from home. With being able to work from home gives me more time with my family but also the bills will be paid and not have to live from paycheck to paycheck.

The most important thing that motivated me to be a MT is that my children are growing up so fast and I am not able to see them grow. With working as a MT I would see my self financially stable and watching my children grow, and go to there activities at school. I would like to actually try something new in life instead of having that same old job for the rest of my life. It grows old working in the nursing field for so long that it has even taken a toll on my back. Since I have not been working and lifting the heavy things my back is beginning to heal slowly. I love spending time with my children and be able to go camping and do fun stuff with them on the weekends. But working for a company I can not get weekends off that much to do fun things since weekends are mandatory in the nursing field.

Going back to school would be a new experience in life that I would like to take. Plus it would be great to stay at home and not have to pay a babysitter. I also would someday be able to be financially stable and free of debt collector’s calling me when they need money. I would be able to send money to the debt collectors and not have to worry that I can not send money because all my paycheck is all towards bills and no play. Plus it is to the point that my other half is working his but off to make sure that income is coming in to pay the bills and keep the roof over our heads and have food on the table.

The main reason I would like to become a MT is that I would like to stay at
home and work from home so that way I could watch my kids instead of sending them to a babysitter. I also would like to make more than minimum wage working online rather than working for a company and all my income goes to is bills and babysitters. I have never been able to find one job that would pay enough to have money left over to get other stuff other than food and bills. This would give me a chance to make a different life for me and my
children. This would work out great being able to work online other than
having to drive into town to work. I live out in the country and have a big
yard that I would love to put up a swing set for the kids to play outside.

I want to become a medical transcriptionist for many reasons. Becoming a medical transcriptionist would allow me to work in my own time, be able to spend time with my children, provide for their needs while helping my husband financially support us and be able to pay student loans. My husband works full-time at Target, but his hours are never the same. Since his hours are never the same, it is almost impossible for him or me to get another job.

Potential employers want to know availability and we cannot do that with his work schedule. I already have two associates degrees, but there is not any work here I am qualified for since I do not have any experience. I also have two children under the age of two that I take care of, one of which has Cystic Fibrosis. It is important to me that I am able to stay home and take care of not only both of them, but especially my daughter. Not very many know people have even heard of Cystic Fibrosis let alone know how to take care of a child with this disease. My daughter has to take a lot of medications, enzymes, breathing treatments, and chest percussion’s. I need to be at home with her, but my husband and I both have student loans, a mortgage, and credit cards that we need to pay, not to mention other bills as well. We also have to sell our house because we cannot afford it anymore on one income.

Becoming a medical transcriptionist would allow me to take care of all of these needs. Some advantages I consider of working in the MT industry are the flexibility of hours, the opportunity to work at home, working in a career, and the feeling of being able to provide for my family. It is such a great feeling to have when you are financially stable. I do not have to commute and I save on gas. I could spend most of the day with my kids and work at night while they are sleeping. This means more to me than anything knowing that a silent killer disease is taking my daughter. I want to make every second count with her. To be completely honest, the opportunity to get a paid scholarship for training influenced me to train with Future MT. Since I already have two associate degrees, I cannot afford any more student loan debt.

As far as benefits that Future MT offers, I like that there are two guarantees. There is the money back guarantee, and there is the employment service guarantee. These two guarantees prove to me that Future MT will work for me. This bargain is hard to come by. Some educational or career goals I would like to see myself achieve in the MT industry in the next couple years is to become a professional and be able to prove myself worthy of working for whoever it is I am employed by. One of the reasons I have wanted to become a Medical Transcriptionist is due to my interest in reading about medical terminology, technical information, the meaning and relationships of words. Also how the human body functions. Oddly I never had interest in becoming a nurse or doctor of any kind. Also, I completed some college but got side tracked by love. I married have three beautiful daughters, divorced.

I had to get a job quick I had three children to raise and without the benefit of college education. I became a customer service/entry level office assistant, which required basic skills. I was able to move up in the corporate industry. After ten years of working for sub-prime credit company-mid management I was laid off. It has been about one year. Another reason is I want to become an MT is that the training is a self paced training course. Time is of the essence. I am in a hurry. I was searching the Internet for employment opportunities and came across an advertisement for Future MT Inc.

My children are continuing their educations and establishing careers. My time is here. I can focus on myself. As faith would have it I am currently unemployed and have the opportunity to further my education and establish a career in an industry I want and not one I have to settle for. Working in the Medical Transcription industry will advantageous for me in a number of ways.

When graduating high school, most students already know what they want to be, but that was not me. After graduating high school I started my college journey taking my basic classes and I hated it. After one year, did not go back instead I started working. I myself do not like the traditional college classes and having so many deadlines. While working full-time it is hard for me to meet deadlines. As of now, I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and making only eight dollars an hour which is not a great but it is better then nothing. Trying to make a car payment and wanting to live on my own is very difficult when I only make enough to survive. I want to be a Medical Transcriptionist because I could work a career I actually enjoy and that pays more. Don’t get me wrong I love my job as a Certified Nursing Assistant but it is not something I want to do forever.

The advantages of becoming a Medical Transcriptionist are what pulls me to the career of an MT. The flexibility of work means a great deal to me because; I want to be a stay at home mom, but still make an income. Working as a Medical Transcriptionist would allow me to stay at home with my children and allow me to keep making the income I need to survive. One other major advantage of being a Medical Transcriptionist is that it is not a physical job like a Certified Nursing Assistant. I would physically be able to work as a Medical Transcriptionist longer without breaking my body down. Traditional college courses, it is all about deadlines and I hate rushing my work and training. I suppose I should start by telling you some things about myself. In the last year I have been creating a new life. The life I have always wanted to lead, that I have always deserved to life. I left a loveless and controlling marriage after 22 years, which took all of the courage I could muster. I am still struggling to finalize the divorce over a year later because my husband is an attorney and a judge and is making it as difficult as possible for me. He even told my 21 year old daughter that he is “throwing roadblocks up on purpose!” I am going back to school, first to pursue my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I then plan to work as a nurse while attending school to become a physician’s assistant. I am 46 years old and still have a 16 year old son at home. He is amazing and wonderful and supports me at every turn.

To top things off, I just got laid off from a job I have had for over three years with absolutely no warning!! Just when I made the mistake of saying “it can’t get any worse”, my son’s truck broke down and needs $420 worth of repairs! I must say life is a very odd thing. My best friend of 30 years has a sister who is a Medical Transcriptionist. She suggested I contact Angela to discuss the field with her. We have been emailing back and forth and with all the information she was able to provide, I felt this was the solution I have been looking for! Working from home while I’m going to school would be a PERFECT fit for me. It had never even crossed my mind, but the more I looked into it the more I have grown to love the idea. My only roadblock? I do not have the money to get the training I need. I was told there are some employers who are willing to train you, but have not been able to find them out there anywhere… Then I found your website and your scholarship program and I wondered it this could be the answer. Is this what I was looking for? I hope so. I don’t know for sure, but I believe everything happens for a reason.

October 16th 2004, I will always remember where I was at every minute of that day. Why, you might wonder, it is the day my father lost his 10 month battle with small cell carcinoma of the left lung. December 14th 2003, the day my parents were given the diagnosis of this disease, “Mr. Gomes you have Lung Cancer”, we are scheduling you for your 1st cycle of Chemotherapy on December 16th” Our world fell apart. My dad had begun his journey to the end. Every trip to the hospital was good and not so good news. Some of the physicians and nursing staff we encountered were compassionate others were “just doing their shift “. This drove my mother and I crazy. Lack of knowledge about the disease, about what the treatments meant, what the reports told us, being left at the mercy of the on call doctor/s and nursing staff to transcribe the reports within the 5 minutes they had to spare before they skipped off to the next patient was exasperating.

I never got to spend as much time with my father, he was always working to give my mum and I a good life. While he was focused on this, life floated by. His dreams of retiring at the age of 65 to spend time with his grand kids in the US and to travel to the parts of the world he had not visited. To open a woodwork shop where he could design and manufacture custom made furniture, which was his passion. To spend time in his garden.to take long drives through the country side in England . I got to spend 3 precious weeks with him before he passed away. I am grateful for those 3 weeks.

From this personal loss experience,  I learned how important it is to make memories with your kids for that is all they will have once you are gone. This brought me to deciding on becoming an MT. The flexibility of working from home, part time and or full time. In September 2009 I entered the medical field when I signed up for night school to become a Medical Administrative Assistant. This gave me ability to read and understand medical terminology and get a better understanding of the medical world and its workings. Medical Transcription, was my next level of achievement, it will give me the freedom of working at my own schedule which allows me time with my family.

In the ever changing world of Health Care and all the reforms that are coming to us, I see how important the medical personnel has become. I am determined to make it in the medical transcription field, for the love of the medical field and all that comes with it. I owe all my higher education, to both my parents. One who is living and should she have medical issues, I will be in a position to have a better understanding of the medical terminology and reports. I want to become a Medical Transcriptionist, because I am experiencing a lot of financial difficulties in my life right now. My belief is, that being a Medical Transcriptionist, and having the flexibility to either work from home, or from an office, will increase my wages which will in turn better my financial lifestyle. These changes began in my life when my Licensed Daycare, and PreSchool burned. After that happened, I applied to the Board of Education, in Jersey City for a teaching position, but there were no openings. I was encouraged by a friend to come stay with her in the Pocono Mountains, in Pennsylvania. So, I took the opportunity, and I moved. Fortunately, I got a job as a Substitute Teacher, but for the three years, I have been substituting, it has not made a financial change in my life. I have been barely making it, and sometimes, I cannot meet my financial obligations.

Because of these turns of events in my life, I believe that I have made the right choice to want to become a Medical Transcriptionist. For years, I have wanted to become a Medical Transcriptionist. However, I have never initiated the courage to go online, and make a search to fulfill my desire. I have had it at the back of my mind, hoping that one day the opportunity will arise for me to move forward. The opportunity is now. It is that time for me to do what I have yearned for, and to make myself, and my life much easier, by committing to going back to school, and taking classesto make life a lot easier for me. I have a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate, and I have worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 10 years, but even doing that does not increase your earnings to the point that there is a change in your lifestyle, and you do not have to pay one bill, and leave the other until you get paid again in another two weeks. It is a job. You stay with it, because it supplements your lifestyle, and you keep hoping that one day big changes would come that will be so effective, that your life will have a drastic turn around. I believe that the time has now come. I believe that applying to become a Medical Transcriptionist will bring about the change that has been long overdue. I will like to make the best of the opportunity to study as hard as I can to achieve the certificate that will bring about a resounding change in my life.

Nothing ever happens to anyone unless he/she makes it happen. Sometimes, you have to stop sitting back and waiting for good things to come into your life. In order for you to get good things, you have to get up and reach towards them, and grasp them–making sure that you do not let them escape. This is what I have done. I have searched until I have found what I have long wanted, and now that I have found it, I have no intentions of letting it escape from me.

Hi, My name is Paris. I’m going to tell you a little bit about me and why I am looking into the career of Medical Transcription. I have been in the medical field as a Medical Assistant for almost four years now. I am very comfortable and passionate about the medical field. I am recently married and expecting my first child. I know that I wanted to stay in the career zone that I am passionate about, but also be able to be a mother and a wife. How can I do that, and still be in the medical field? I have done a lot of research on medical transcribing from home and knew right away that it is what I am supposed to do with my life, for me and my family. I would love to be able to do what I am passionate about in a career and still be able to be a wonderful wife and mother at the same time. I do believe that a women who can do both and succeed at both, is a wonderful achievement.

Being able to give my 100% at both career and family, would be my life goal. Being in the medical field is such a rewarding experience. Not only in the selfish perspective for myself, but also others. Putting a smile on faces and reassuring and making patients feel at home and comfortable is what I learned to be very important. I have worked in many different fields, from Obstetrics to Oncology. Every field has its rewards and also has its challenges. What makes us who we are at our career and as a person? Being able to take every challenge at work and turn it into a learning experience and ultimately a reward, is what makes a person good at what they do. I have been able to take a sad and scary experience of people going through the tragic news of cancer, and making it just another life experience for a patient.

Being able to put a smile on a face of someone who is struggling with emotions and fears, is a wonderful gift that I feel I have. And with that, makes me good at what I do. I have seen myself grow a great deal in these last few years as a medical assistant. I have become more passionate, more understanding and more loving as a person. My goal in life is to now grow in my career. I would like to have the opportunity to give my all and become the best that I can in what I do. Becoming a Medical Transcriber is going to allow me to accomplish my life goals of having a wonderful family and also a wonderful career. Yes, many women have families and careers outside there home. However, if I have the opportunity, the desire and the ability to have a family and be able to work from home, then I think that is an exciting accomplishment in its self. I do hope I am given the opportunity to do what I love and given the opportunity to accomplish my goal in life.

For most of my life I have wanted to work in the medical field. In high school I poured myself over medical books and dreamed of becoming a nurse or a genetics counselor or even a veterinarian. But with so many options how do you choose? My own medical problems made that an easy choice for me. In my late teens I developed an anxiety disorder which made working in crowded or noisy places uncomfortable. My work in a busy call center became so difficult that I had to quit. Then one day I read an article online about stay at home jobs and everything just fell into place. For me, medical transcription became the dream career.

There are so many advantages to working in an MT career that they are hard to count. First of all, it would remedy the problems I have with working in crowds and noise. However, one of the very best reasons would be my ability to stay home and care for my infant son, Orion. Its so hard to trust others to care for your children in todays’ world and it would be such a comfort to know that he is always in my capable hands and not subjected to the goings on of a baby sitter. Not to mention I wouldn’t have to miss one smile, giggle, or milestone unlike other parents who sadly miss so very much having to be away from home to work. So I’d have to say being able to be at home is the number one advantage to a Medical Transcription career.

This MT course was the most appealing to me. I’ve looked at dozens of different courses ranging from three months to two years until completion. On many of the longer courses it is required to take a lot of basic math, science and English classes. In high school, I completed many college level and advance placement classes which eliminate the need to repeat such classes to be a successful MT. For me it feels like it would just be an unnecessary repeat course. This translates to time wasted when I could have already completed the course and be working. For this reason alone the FutureMT course offered here is my number one choice overall. I am very motivated to move my career along quickly so that I can begin providing a better life for my little family. Therefore, within six months I wish to have started and completed an MT program. Within a year I hope to be working in an MT career. In five to ten years I hope to have steady work and an established reputation for the quality of my work and the speed in which I do it. I am not looking to be a grand career woman or make ridiculous amounts of money. I have more of a realistic point or view. My only wish is to provide a consistent and steady income to keep my family afloat in this ever changing world.
