Becoming an MT can generate the income I desire
There are numerous factors contributing to my desire to become a medical transcriptionist. As a retired dental hygienist, I have a genuine interest in health and medical issues. For twenty-one years, I have been happily separated from the hectic routine of a busy, stressful dental practice, as I have reared our family and managed our household. Now that our family is grown, I welcome the opportunity to contribute to our child’s education and our financial future. Over the past several years, I have been searching for a legitimate, profitable, enjoyable, challenging, meaningful vehicle that would provide me with solid stay-at-home income. After meeting with much disappointment and frustration upon my discovery of one scam after another, I heard that a former associate had become an at-home medical transcriptionist.
Although she had received her training locally, I decided that I would prefer to learn medical transcription at home. I was fortunate to find the Future MT website. Upon locating the FMT website, I was armed with a long list of questions. After an extensive exploration of the website, every one of my questions was answered thoroughly and articulately.
This course allows me to study, learn and develop my skills in the privacy of my home, at my own pace. There appears to be a solid support system for students encountering challenges and questions during the course of their training. There are no deadlines for completing the course, allowing students to attend to personal and family matters, concerns, events and responsibilities. Even though our family is now grown, my husband and I continue to be actively involved in the lives of each and every family member. We both have family scattered all over the United States; we place a high priority and value on regularly corresponding and visiting with our numerous loved ones. As a former health professional, although dental hygiene was rewarding work, it required me to brave our northern winter road conditions for many years. When I retired, I was thankful and immensely relieved to get off the roads and commit to the life of a stay-at home mom.
With one of those at home medical transcriptionist jobs, I will be able to retain my domestic status, while my friends are “white-knuckling” their way to and from their jobs on our snow-covered roadways and wasting time and energy chipping, scraping and brushing ice and snow off of their vehicles. As a dental hygienist, my one-hour drive to the office easily stretched to three hours during heavy snowfalls. I would arrive at the office, stressed and exhausted, only to find that all of my patients had cancelled! Since I was only paid for time worked, snow days cost me money, as well as stress and wasted energy. Thankfully, the dentist paid me for half a day on such occasions, but income was still lost– and the stress of winter took its toll on my nerves. It gives me great comfort to envision myself happily working away at my computer, while winter is raging outside my window! I look forward to completing my medical transcription course.
I wish to use my training to generate an income that will make a difference in our family’s financial future, while staying at home. I would like to one day receive my certification, as I endeavor to improve my skills with practical experience. I would hope that I find appropriate employment, which will make my dream a rewarding reality.
