Broadening my education
I am very excited to enter into the world of Medical Transcription. Within the last three years, I have suffered from a stroke and a hole was found in my heart. I am 90% recovered from my stroke and to look at me, talk to me, or be around me, one would never know I had a stroke. I received an implant in my heart to repair the hole. Two weeks after my heart surgery, I left my husband of five years because I realized there is more to life that I want to experience and life is too short and can change overnight, as it did in my life. I have suffered from a stroke, a PFO closure, seizures, job loss and bankruptcy, while trying to start a new life.
I look forward to getting more out of life by broadening my education. I currently have a Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a minor in Business Administration and I also have obtained Paralegal Certification.
I look forward to working in the medical field as it is a consistent field. There will always be a need in the medical field and I believe that short of being a nurse or doctor, being a transcriptionist is a way to assist in improving patient care. Being a patient, I realize it is important that all information be reported accurately and in a timely manner. I won’t just be transcribing something someone says; I will be essentially affecting a patient’s life.
I am very interested in the Future MT training because of the online courses, as I prefer to have one of those work from home jobs and believe this is the correct path to follow. I am happy to see that all course material is provided with your tuition and that the program is an “at-you-own-pace” program with support and assistance readily available. I am excited that there are text books, as well as online and CD Rom courses combined. The fact that you offer career placement upon completion gives me the confidence to know I am making the right choice with Future MT because you believe in your students.
In the future I would like to take my knowledge and experience of medical transcription to a full time position possibly at home. I do not have children but plan to and I believe this program will give me the flexibility to live a higher quality of life to be able to enjoy doing the things I do and working from home. I would also like to possibly start my own business and eventually get my own accounts and hire employees to work under me as a way to enjoy more time off. This program will really help me get back on my feet both financially and mentally and will provide a great boost in self-confidence. I want to enjoy the ability to continue to learn and use that education productively. After reviewing several other medical transcription programs, Future MT seems to be the right choice for me. It is lower in cost than other schools and training programs and in an effort to earn more to supplement my income, saving money to get the same training, if not better, quite frankly makes sense.
