My reasons to consider being an MT

One of the reasons I have wanted to become a Medical Transcriptionist is due to my interest in reading about medical terminology, technical information, the meaning and relationships of words. Also how the human body functions. Oddly I never had interest in becoming a nurse or doctor of any kind. Also, I completed some college but got side tracked by love. I married have three beautiful daughters, divorced.

I had to get a job quick I had three children to raise and without the benefit of college education. I became a customer service/entry level office assistant, which required basic skills. I was able to move up in the corporate industry. After ten years of working for sub-prime credit company-mid management I was laid off. It has been about one year. Another reason is I want to become an MT is that the training is a self paced training course. Time is of the essence. I am in a hurry. I was searching the Internet for employment opportunities and came across an advertisement for Future MT Inc.

My children are continuing their educations and establishing careers. My time is here. I can focus on myself. As faith would have it I am currently unemployed and have the opportunity to further my education and establish a career in an industry I want and not one I have to settle for. Working in the Medical Transcription industry will advantageous for me in a number of ways.

The flexibility of working from home will save on my transportation expenses. Also eliminate demands of the corporate environment for example, unfriendly work environment, meeting deadlines, competiveness and the fear of being laid off or fired etc. I have the option of working in a comfortable environment, my home. No special projects. No deadlines. Only I will benefit from what I put into my work. I’d have the opportunity to own my own business as well as enhance my self esteem and independence. My grandchildren will be able to come home whenever they want or need to. An attraction that influenced my decision to consider enrolling  included the flexibility of the program and the classes all sound interesting. The assistance and opportunities offered after completing the course. Assistance is available by email or phone. I researched the company it is accredited and since the beginning 2002 to date the few BBB issues have been resolved.

I consider that responsible, reliable and honest business. Another attraction is the program is self paced; designed to educate and train the employed or unemployed. I bought a new home in 1995. After I was laid off I thought this is the end. I have come to realize it was meant for me to see the advertisement. This is a chance for a new beginning. This is the next step up in my life. My first goal is to complete the Future MT training course. The second goal is to establish employment soon after, which will enhance my skills and experience. Then become a Certified Medical Transcriptionist. The third goal is within the next two years continue my education and earn a Bachelor Degree in Health Information Technology. One stepping stone at a time.
