I like the possibilities with MT training
I would love to become a Medical Transcriptionist because it is the one field in medicine that I know I would be good at. I love the flexibility that comes with the job. I have always wanted to work in a hospital, doctors office, and at home and with this training I will be able to do all of that if the situation in my life has changed. Around 1999 before my daughter was born I knew someone that was a Medical Transcriber and found it very interesting but I was a little intimidated on how I could possibly quit my job at Costco and try something new. I have never forgotten how much my friend loved what she did and the fact that she did it at home. I believe that my main reason is working from home.
During the year of 2009 my husband lost his job. Like millions of other people it was very hard on him and our marriage. I also felt hopeless. I had no training in anything and I still have young children. What was I going to do with them even if I got a job during the day? There was no guarantee I would be home by the time they got home and we had no family around to help. What if they got sick or hurt? The stress of having to call in sick, even though I had to, would kill me. Also, I have not worked since they were born. My 6 year old asked me to please not go to work and to stay home with him.
With this training that is a possibility. I have always found working in the medical field fascinating. There is always something going on. I have to admit that I love the small fee that it takes to become certified with Future MT. This company also offers a guarantee and helps with finding employment. Because of the last year I have realized the need in having a secure job or career. They have a good report with the BBB and seem to care about the average persons success.
I like that I can work at my own pace and they help with financial aid. I found it a little disturbing that most of the colleges that I researched on the Internet didn’t want to reveal their tuition amount until they got all your information and phone number. I would love to get back in to the workforce and work at a hospital or doctors office. I like the flexibility of working in a hospital when it comes to the hours and shifts they offer. What I also find appealing though, are the advantages of working in a doctors office when it comes to a smaller facility. I would have to think about which one of those I would prefer. I would most likely work at home if, I could, until my children are old enough to stay home without an adult around constantly. The medical field is a never ending career to me. There will never be shortages or layoffs and to me that means security and what I can finally offer my family.
