I Want To Become An MT!
I have been considering medical transcription for about a year. I am a nurse midwife, have been in the medical field as an assistant to prominent chiropractors. I am a licensed massage therapist and love the alternative medical world. I combine the two to get the best results. I believe in preventative medicine; good diet, regular exercise, good living; no smoking or excessive drinking and absolutely no illegal drugs. People don’t always think ahead about their health and how it will affect their golden years. I am always there for anyone who wants advice about healthy living. My oldest son is a medical program designer for Kaiser Permanente. This has become very lucrative for him and he loves it. He started out in the mail room after college at Medical Manager in Alachua, Florida. That became Med MD and he has grown to the top of his field. My mother and grandmother were nurses. I grew up around hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages and home birthing. The medical field is in my blood and, obviously, in my son’s. Recently I have been diagnosed with some serious neck problems including degenerating cervical vertebrae, diseased discs and narrowing of my spinal canal. I can no longer do the things I used to especially in the work force. I am just now starting physical therapy with the hopes that I can avoid surgery. I will do anything to prevent that. Being able to work from home at my computer will be a blessing. I do need to take care of myself financially. Medical transcription will allow me to work at my own pace from home and provide an interesting tool; medical transcripts. I look forward to seeing how doctors are treating specific cases. It will be the closest I can come to being in the medical field. I appreciate how Future MT offers the possibility for scholarships and the price is the best I have seen. Even if I don’t get a scholarship, I could probably get my children to chip in for the tuition.
Future MT offers online studies which is important as travel for me requires having someone to drive me. It will be impossible for me to work outside my home depending on someone to transport me. Future MT’s website is very attractive, easy to navigate through and answered every question I have. All of the articles were informative and interesting. It is encouraging to see that you offer employment search techniques and continuous resume distribution. The Back Office is written clearly and gives precise and complete direction. It feels like you are really connected and not out there at ‘home all alone’, yikes! What I want to accomplish with Future MT is not just to become educated in the field, but to become the best in the field, work as much as I can and make as much money as I can. I was always on the Dean’s list in college. I am a hard worker and a fast learner. I am excited to excel and see what the future holds for me at Future MT. I can guarantee referrals from me. Any time I find something that works, I pass it on. I hope to make enough money that my husband can take breaks and enjoy his own life. He is an amazing man and has had no problem taking care of everything while I am getting my new life together and seeking this education for income. This will help to support the household and help to ease the pressures. I am always open to bigger and better. I do not know what it would entail to start an MT business but I would be interested to learn. My family totally supports me and I am looking forward to embracing this new career.
