Interested in becoming an MT
I am very interested in becoming a medical transcriptionist because I have 25 years experience working in the health-care profession and feel that my knowledge of health-care will benefit my employer and possibly others who are looking for career changes and wanting to get into MT. I became discouraged and burned out of health-care from where and what I did while employed in health-care. I know that health-care is one of the few forms of guaranteed good paying forms of employment right now. I think that medical transcription is a great means of employment in the health-care field as there is such a great demand for MT’s all over the country. The opportunities in this field are great, and for a country that has been facing the rising unemployment, this area of work is great. The education needed to become an MT is fairly short in length and dependable in providing a good career.
Future MT is offering a great program in which I can work at my own pace, still allowing me to work elsewhere if I need to while getting the training for starting a new career as a medical transcriptionist. I like the idea of working at my own pace as I feel that my background knowledge of health-care will enable me to get through the program rather quickly so that I can start working as a medical transcriptionist as soon as possible.
I do have to say that Future Mt caught my eye in that they offer financial assistance without having to go through the whole assistance enrollment thing that one has to do when trying to get assistance through all college programs. I have been wanting to go back to school for quite some time, to pursue an education in which I could do a shortened program to start a career in something in which I could get employment rather quickly, but have always been stopped by the fact that I can’t get financial assistance due to the fact that I have been in default with past student loans. Future Mt is giving me the opportunity not only to get a career in health-care, which is where all my experience lies, but also to get an education in something that there is a great demand for and offers a career that pays decently. I see me having a good career in medical transcription. I look forward to the educational part, learning the ropes of becoming a MT. I have always enjoyed the educational process.
I went back to school years ago and kept going to the point of getting my master’s in business management. The only problem with getting all that education is all I ended up with was a degree, no job. My experience has always been in healthcare, and I was unable to get my foot in the door even with all my education because there was very little help when I graduated to get work in business. Future MT offers job placement at the end of my successfully completing the program, and that offers me a lot of hope that by getting this education that it won’t go to waste. Hopefully, on completion of this program I will be able to get a job right away. I’m hoping to start out working at home to get some experience under my belt before trying to combine my experience and education to move upward towards possible supervisory or management in a MT office situation down the road.
