My Future Career As A Medical Transcriptionist
I started out in the medical field at the age of 16. Upon completion of high school, I ventured out to our community college back home. I made a good attempt to achieve my RN license, but it fell through after 3.5 years. Then my two children came along. Now I’m forced to work 1-2 jobs to support my boys and myself. School was put on the back burner. Now I’m ready to continue my education and get my degree. I was layed off from my job on 8/1/2009. So now I have the time and the energy to do this! I’m very excited. Working in the MT industry I feel will be very rewarding for me. I now have a grandbaby and my time is very crucial, so being able to make my own schedule is very important. I can work while she sleeps. The reason why I’m choosing an online transcription job is that I’ve been in the medical field all my life, either as a state registered nursing assistant or rehab aid and ward clerk. So I love the medical field, but I need something to do from home. I would love to have my own business where I’m the boss instead of me working under someone else. I feel that now I’m taking charge of my life and doing something I want to do and not what I have to do. I will still be able to care for the elderly when I want to, but not on a full-time basis. I can care for my mother and not be bogged down with my employer not giving me the time off I need to handle my business. And the most important issue for me is for my husband to be proud of me for doing something positive that I’ve dreamed about for years. My children are also pushing me to go through with this because it’s all I’ve been talking about. They want me to accomplish something before I get too old. And when I think of the money I can make working from the privacy of my own home, it really excites me. Now I can get that new car I deserve and help with my granddaughter’s schooling. I will feel that sense of accomplishment for my life and, once I’ve completed this course and have established my business, my husband will say “If she can do it, I can do it to”. He wants to open his own restaurant, so if I’m home working, I can also help my husband to become the success he wants to be. Hopefully my success will encourage someone else to just try because I believe I can do whatever I apply my self to and, with God’s grace and mercy, I am encouraged. This economy today can not stop me from being more and getting more out of life. My family deserves the best and I’m going to make this happen. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
