My Reasons For Wanting To Be A Medical Transcriptionist
I have many reasons for wanting to become a medical transcriptionist. This particular line of work has always intrigued me due to the flexibility it provides for the employee. I was first introduced to the world of transcription when I worked at a Physical Therapy Clinic. I worked there for five years as the P.T. aide. We had a transcriptionist that worked outside our office that would come every other day to pick up the therapist’s tapes. She went on vacation for a week and I was given the opportunity to take over the transcription for that period of time. I realized during that time that it was something that I really enjoyed and that I would like to pursue transcription as a career one day. In 2005 I had my first son and decided to quit my job as an aide and be a full time stay-at-home mom. My husband is a self-employed contractor and we have been blessed with much success in his career. However, we had our second son in 2008 and due to the slow economy and therefore slow building industry; it has come to my attention that a second income would be beneficial for our family at this time. I find that there are many advantages to working in the medical transcription industry. First and foremost, as I mentioned before, I find the flexibility of this line of work the biggest advantage of transcription jobs from home. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always known that I wanted to be a stay-at-home mother. I believe that in this day and age, it is so important that children are raised in a home that has an extremely strong bond. The trials that our children are forced to face these days are tremendous and I want to make sure that I am always available to my children whenever they need me. The truth of the matter is that having a job that requires me to be out of the home for 9 hours a day is not in line with that desire. The other advantages that I see with this job are that it is low stress and you are not answering to a boss. I also find transcribing to be quite relaxing; and we all know that in this fast paced world, any sort of relaxation is well received. The biggest reason that I chose Future MT to pursue my career as a transcriptionist, as opposed to any of the other programs available, is that your company offers employment placement services. I live in a fairly small city and will probably have to pursue my career with transcribing out of state. I think that the guarantee that Future MT has put in place for job placement is very advantageous to future graduates of your program. The other reason that I chose this school is because as I was looking through your website, I came up with some questions that I needed answered. When I called, I was greeted by a very nice woman that made me feel at ease and very comfortable with my decision to go with Future MT for my training. I have many goals regarding my ambition to become a medical transcriptionist. My first goal is to order the courses from Future MT as soon as I am notified of my scholarship status and get started right away on earning my completion certificate. As soon as I have earned my certificate, I will take advantage of the employment resources that you offer and pursue a career in the industry. When my youngest son starts kindergarten, which will be in approximately 4 years, I would like to start a transcription company of my own. With the extra money that will be coming in as a result of my new employment, I would like to start some investments for my children in hopes that we will be able to pay cash for their college educations. I hope that you will consider my essay as well thought out and worthy of the full tuition scholarship. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and hope to be working with Future MT very soon.
