New start with the MT Industry
The economy these days is not at its best. So many people have come upon hard times but I believe it is up to the individual to change ones circumstances.
In applying for this scholarship it is my very intention to change my circumstance and bring about a better life. So many things have happened in the last year to make me want to change my career path toward the MT Industry. Almost 1 year ago my husband left deciding he no longer wished to be married. Around the same time due to the decline in the economy I took a huge pay cut leaving it almost impossible to provide for my two children. So to sum it up I lost my husband, house, and change in career all in one year.
I do not enjoy the work I currently do and there is no room for advancement. It is time for a change. Some of the advantages of working in the Medical Transcription industry would definitely be the flexibility of working at home or more time with family.
Due to my circumstances I had to move out of my children school district and I now have to transport them every day to school. When they have a Dr. Appointment or need to leave early I have to take off work to be able to be there for them. I cannot afford summer care and the flexibility would allow me to be with them in the summer when school is out. They are also not young forever, and these are the years that make a difference in their future. These are just a few top reasons the MT Industry would be perfect for my family and I.
Future MT is one of the first sites I came across when looking into starting this profession. First of all it is an accredited program which offers all the tools and training needed to get started. Future MT also does not turn down student loans. I am trying to get back on my feet and support my children and I am without having to rely on child support which may or may not come in each month. With the student loans and employer referral I am sure to get out to a good start. Once I get started in the MT Industry and get myself established with the tools and training I need to get started I would like this to become my full time source of income.
In 5 – 10 years with experience I could advance to supervisory position, home-based work, editing, consulting or even teaching. There are so many avenues to take with some additional education, I will probably return to school and finish my education. I am ready for change and have a little school back ground in Pharmacy Technology and medical terminology that will help tremendously. I enjoy and take a great interest in the medical industry and look forward to working hard and enjoying the work I do. Finding a profession one enjoys is not always easy. This scholarship would help me get off to a new start and to a brighter future.
