Nurse in Transition
I would like to be a Medical Transcriptionist because it will allow me to utilize my health care experience to expand my skills and transition to another medically-related career.
I am a Professional Registered Nurse and have enjoyed a exciting and fulfilling twenty-year career. I have had the opportunity to work in varies areas in nursing including: medicine, surgery, pediatrics, maternity, hospice, long-term care, teaching, Home Health Aides/Certified Nurse Aides supervision, Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation and Home Care. I believe that my wide range of experiences will help me transition to the Medical Transcription career.
I believe that working as a Medical Transcriptionistwould offer me more at-home opportunities which is one of my career goals. Because of my religious beliefs, family obligations, and desire to work from home, I belief that becoming a Medical Transcriptionist would be conducive to my present lifestyle. Being a Seventh-day Adventist, prohibits me from working on Saturdays. Also, I homeschool my three children. Thus I need a legitimate health-related career that will accommodate my religious and family obligations. My interest in Medical Transcription is recent and was discovered as I sought at-home opportunities. Medical Transcription is attractive to me because it offers autonomy and flexibility and a good income. I found Future MT online and chose this school because of its reasonable tuition cost and scholarship opportunities. It has program options and provides a program to encourage success. One of my career goals is to work as an entrepreneur, possibly in a variety of ways. I’d like to work out of my home at least until my children are grown which will be in about ten years. After this, I may transition to academics and teach others how to be medical transcriptionist. The Internet and other modern technologies are changing the future rapidly. I’d like to stay on the cutting edge of modern technology. I’d like to expand my skills to allow me to have many options in the job market. My ultimate goal is to use my skills, resources and education to the highest level possible for the purpose of serving mankind especially as it relates to the medical field. I dedicated myself to the health field and consider it an honor to work with medical professionals as part of the medical care system.
The medical care industry is one of the biggest industries in the world and there will always be a need for health care workers. Medical Transcriptionist may not directly provide hands on care to patients, however, they play a vital role in the health care system providing the necessary records for verification, evaluation, education and service. The Internet makes it so medical transcriptionist can work for anyone all over the world. I believe there are unlimited opportunities. If one is willing to work hard and is ambitious, and tenacious they can be successful. I believe I have the drive and other attributes that are needed for success. I have been successful in accomplishing my goals previously and I am confident that I can accomplish my goal now and that is to become an outstanding Medical Transcriptionist.
