One of my goals is to become an MT
Hello my name is Nicole Seals. I have been to school to be a Medical Assistant, and loved it. I found that I love the medical terminology part of the health-care industry. I am currently in a tough financial situation and that is why I applying for this scholarship. I am a very good student, and when I graduated with my Medical Assistant diploma, I had earned a 3.85GPA.
I want to be a MT because I want to learn the depth of the medical language. I know some but I want to know a lot more. When I worked as a Medical Assistant I remember the doctors talking about syncope. I asked, what does that mean? They replied fainting. I took medical terminology when I was in MA school, but I know I did not learn everything and want to become more familiar with medical terminology.
My husband, and I would like to have a family one day and I would love to be able to be with my child longer than standard paternity leave. Paternity leave is not enough for me. It would be an awesome opportunity to be have one of those work from home jobs and able to work from home doing something I love, and be able to raise my child at the same time. Being able to be a mother is number one, and then my career, but I need a career to be able to take care of my child. That is why I have not had children yet. I want to make sure I have career that allows me to focus on my family life as well. I would like to someday be an independent worker and business owner. I am sure there will always be a need for an MT. I love the whole thought of the translation of the terminology, and I know that I am very smart and I will be very good at being an MT.
I would like to take the MT program as far as it allows me to go. I can do anything I put my mind to; especially because this is something I am already very interested in. It is ironic when I watching ER before it went off the air if they said a medical term I would always tried to translate as many terms to my husband as I could. And it always made me feel good that I knew most of the terms. This program I believe will allow me a chance to be successful in something I want to do. I wish I would have done this sooner, but I am trying to do it now so that is all that matters. I would be very grateful if I was granted this full scholarship to help me achieve my goals in life. My goals are very important to me, and my goal is to be an MT and a full time mom. This scholarship would help me so much in reaching my long term goals in being an MT. As an MT business owner I want to go as far as I can, but this is the first step in to getting there.
