Seeking to start a new career

I have always had a desire to be a medical transcriptionist. My husband is joining the Army and I have three kids under the age 5, and I am finding that right now is the perfect time to start a career. I have always been a stay at home mom. Working out of my home would be ideal for my whole families situation. My oldest will start school in the fall. My middle child is ODD, ADHD, and they are testing for genetic disorders. A 9 to 5 does not work out so well with all her doctors appointments and meetings. I want a job that I can take with me all over the world with my husband as well. I do not want to be changing jobs every time we move base. I am also very interested in owning my own business some day. I think that this is a perfect job for my whole family and it is something that I would love so much to do.

My whole reason for wanting to work from home is because of my kids. They have always had me at their disposal and I like it that way. With us moving around from base to base so much to I think that it would be better for them if I worked from home. It would also be great for our financial situation as well. My income along with my husbands would be more than enough to get our family by. My middle daughter is my main drive for wanting to work from home. I don’t know how well she will do in school, and I need to be at here beck and call so to speak. I would also like to better understand the lab sheets and other stuff that we receive due to all her testing. I hate asking what every little thing is, because most of the time I get “Oh, that is just blood work.” Ok, I know that it is just blood work but what does it test for, how is it done? That is the kind of stuff I want to know and most of the time the people we are working with don’t want to explain any more than they have to. I have always had a this drive that I want to be the owner of the company not be the one just getting a pay check.

This class would put me well on my way to reaching that goal. No one said it would be easy but I am finally at a point in my life were I can start to do things for me. Being a medical transcriptionist is the one thing that I have always had a drive to do. Growing up my aunt worked from home as an MT and she loved every minute of it. I saw that she was able to be on vacation and never had to take time off from work. Well at least that is the way she made it seem. Moving around after my husband is in the Army isn’t going to leave me much of a chance to have my own career and make my own money. Moving so much is going to leave me with some what of a job trail. In my eyes that makes someone look like a job hopper and it says to me that they don’t hold jobs for very long. People don’t care why you have had so many  jobs that. I know that this job can follow me any where and that someday I will be able to start my own MT business
