The Best Solution
Becoming a Medical Transcriptionist will solve several challenges that we are facing right now. At this point in our lives my husband and I were hoping to be semi-retired and begin traveling and seeing our families that live in different parts of the country. Unfortunately, due to some medical issues, my husband has had to have a forced retirement and cannot work a full day at all. He is on disability and I feel the need to be close by him. Having an additional income from what we are currently living on would benefit us greatly. We’ve made a major move from one state to this one and live near our eldest son and his family. So if we have need of anything, he is close enough to assist us. Years ago I entered the medical field out of high school. I enrolled in St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in San Francisco, California. In the past I have worked in a few hospitals and several clinics and doctors offices, so being around that atmosphere is not foreign to me. It has just been a very long time since I have worked in that arena. I did fill in for MTs from time to time, but only on an “as needed” basis. I feel like this course offers me a chance to re-familiarize myself with all of the subjects that are necessary to be addressed with medical documentation. I like the fact that I will have professional MTs available for consultation and problem solving to answer any questions that will arise. Working and taking this course from home is a huge plus for us right now. If I had to attend a brick and mortar establishment, I would have to travel a good distance from where we live and be on their time table, not mine. Working at my own pace is also very advantageous since I can do the courses as I have the time with our own schedule here at home (as well as be there to assist my husband if the need arises). Since the demand for MTs is so high right now and in time will be even higher, I feel that this is an excellent opportunity for me. Beginning another career was not something that I was planning on, but since it is necessary at this time in our lives, this will be an excellent one to move into. I am excited to see and learn all that has transpired over the years in the medical field of transcription. Using my computer and utilizing all of my past years of experience that have been dormant for so long will be interesting. I appreciate this company and the well thought out curriculum that is presented for students to learn and utilize their own futures. I plan on keeping this career for as long as I am able. It appears to be the best solution for many problems that have surfaced in our lives at this time. I am looking forward to starting the medical transcription courses as soon as possible and completing them in a timely manner.
