The Endless Benefits of Medical Transcription
I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2004 with a degree in marketing. In January of 2005, I began working for RR Donnelley as a Customer Service Support Specialist. Due to a lot of hard work and determination, I was offered a job within the company as a Tactical Planner after only eight months of employment. After three months as a Tactical Planner, my supervisor was so confident in my ability to handle our scheduling, he took one full week of vacation–Something he had not been able to do in five years. After one year of being a Tactical Planner in Senatobia, I was offered a corporate position as a regional Tactical Planner, which would have been a remote position done from home. I have three children and that would have been an ideal position for me and beneficial to my family. The position was cancelled due to the economy. I have been looking for something I could do from home since that time and have recently been looking into medical transcription. I am self motivated and have an entrepreneur drive. I had started researching medical transcription which can be done from home. The industry has several benefits, the Future MT course has many benefits, and MT would enable me to begin the achievement of some of my career goals. As stated earlier, I have been looking for a career which I could start at home. Medical transcription is a career which would allow me to work from home and be my own boss. I now have four children and currently work thirty minutes away from them daily. Working from home or even in an office in the area would allow me more flexibility with my children. I can think of several benefits if I worked in the MT industry. Working in the MT industry would allow me to contract myself out. I could set my own schedule. Eventually I could determine my salary by the number of jobs I chose to handle. In the office it would give more job security if I wanted to relocate. I could be an MT in any state and in most towns as well. Due to my current busy lifestyle, the Future MT program is ideal. The Future MT course offers open enrollment so it can be started at anytime. The course is designed for people with no prior experience, like me. Help is available if needed. The course is short and compact, but is enough to offer adequate training to be a Medical Transcriber. Best of all, students in the program receive real life transcript experience. After the training, I could finally start my own business from home. I have always wanted to have my own business, work from home, or just be my own boss. Medical transcription would allow me to do all three. If I decided I wanted to work for someone again, that would also be possible. The benefits are endless. The advantages of work from home medical transcription jobs are endless. The doors that could be opened and the opportunities to add more educational experience to my resume are endless. The more I think about starting a new career in medical transcription the more excited I become. My prayer is that I am randomly selected for the scholarship and can begin soon.
