I recently lost my job in Accounts Receivable due to downsizing. I realized then how important it is to have a job in an industry that is strong and growing. There are a lot of job postings for medical transcriptionists. Many of them are from home and have flexible hours allowing you to choose between part-time and full-time employment. I believe medical transcription is a great career for individuals who are family motivated. I am a mother of three children and would love to have a career that can be done part-time or from my home. There a very few careers where you can be home to get your children off of the bus in the afternoon. That is a perk that is indisputable. It would greatly benefit my family to have me home and available to them and earning an income at the same time! Having flexibility in choosing when I work will help me to manage my career and my family. One of the greatest perks of this career is the ability to go from part-time to full-time when it suits my family’s needs. There are very few careers in which the amount of time you work is chosen by you. My family needs will change as my children grow and it is imperative that my career can grow also. A career as a medical transcriptionist will allow me to modify my work schedule to meet my future needs. Future MT’s medical transcription online program will also allow me the flexibility to learn the skills at my own pace. As a mother of three, this is a wonderful way to get the training I need on my own time. It would be a financial hardship to secure a babysitter every week to go to classes. At Future MT that would never be necessary. The program offers a wide range of transcription skills which are necessary for the job. Future MT also has a job placement program that guarantees me a future career. As an unemployed worker, I fully appreciate the job security that Future MT provides. Medical transcription is a career that will take me into the future while allowing me to have quality time with my family. I would love to have the training necessary to become a medical transcriptionist. However, as an unemployed worker, I do not have the resources available to pay for the program. I believe that a career in medical transcription will provide me stability and employability. I am a hard worker and quick learner and would love to be considered for the Future MT scholarship program.
