The Rewards of Medical Transcription
My name is Armida and I am applying for the scholarship program to be a medical transcriber. Almost ten years ago, I graduated as a Medical Office Specialist from a business college. For one reason or another, I never could quite get the job I always wanted as a Medical Office Specialist. One of my classes included medical transcription which I truly enjoyed. I also have experience in patient care which is challenging in many ways. I know that if I enrolled in medical transcription courses and was trained to work at home, I would feel fulfilled as the professional I always wanted to be in the medical field. I am currently a mother of two beautiful daughters and I feel I have to strive for the best to give them and myself a better life. A few weeks after my first daughter was born, I lost my mother to a massive infarction. The next years were the worst for me to feel alive again, to feel like I deserved to live better. Hanging on to other people (my first husband at that time) felt demeaning because I knew I could do so much more for my family and self. Now I feel stronger and able to accomplish things and goals I left on hold because of the grief that I felt. Currently, I am married to my second daughter’s father. I feel alive again and that I should do more for our financial situation. I can’t just sit and do house chores anymore, I need to feel like me again. My daughters are six and two years old. My oldest already attends full-time school, but my youngest still needs more of me, more of my attention, other than a daycare. I want to give my younger daughter the same love and attention I gave my oldest daughter. To achieve this without taking her to a daycare and having to work at a low paying job (which I already tried) seems that it is not worth doing for her sake. This is one of the reasons why I need to train in the medical transcription program. To be able to be here at home and work, feel personal fulfillment and make money to give my family the best of me. Having a better life, better car, maybe afford healthcare insurance for my husband and I would be several more reasons to train and have a job online. I am always hoping for a more secure future where I will be able to spend time with my girls and husband at home and still make money. Finding employment in the medical transcription field online would be so rewarding for me in many ways. First, I have worked in the medical field and I have experience, but I also enjoy the clerical side of it. I am very good at it and I feel I could really succeed when I am finally employed by a company that pays me to work in something that I will enjoy.
