What An MT Position Would Mean to Me
After I worked for 25 years in the grocery business, I decided to try a new career. In 2005, I was hired at a small soccer office as the office manager and enjoyed that job for 4 years. In August of 2009, the office was downsized and my job was given to a part-time person, and I found myself having to look for another job. I have been seeking employment in other office settings such as schools, small businesses, etc. for 2 months and have had very little response or success. Because there are many job openings in the medical field, I am interested in employment with a medical office. There are many companies in the health industry and many possibilites for a new job, but before they will hire you, they want you to have at least one or more years experience in the health industry. Since I do not have that medical experience, it limits me to what jobs I am qualified to apply for. I have been looking at getting some extra training or certification to be able to find this kind of job with a medical office. A friend of mine at church told me about medical transcription jobs at home. With the field training I would need and possible jobs available, it sounded like something I could learn and would very much enjoy. I googled education in the medical transcription field and Future MT was one of the resources that looked like an interesting way to get an education online, at your own pace. I have no extra income to be able to get extra training, so I started looking at a scholarship program. Your program offers very good help, and sometimes the entire tuition. An essay to explain why I needed a scholarship, seems to be a very reasonable requirement to be able to get that scholarship. I would actually have the option of working at home or in an office setting and still make a very good income. I would ideally like to work in an office, but just having the flexibility to do either, could open up a whole new world of employment for me. It really gives you new options to think about and look into. It is also training that will serve me well into the future and would help me continue to grow and keep a good job. I am very active in my church. I sing in the Worship Choir and serve as Vice President of the Choir. I also serve on the Women’s Committee and am Chairman of the Aesthetics Committee, and I help with Church Visitation and writing cards too. I would be able to spend more time helping in my church if I could get this training and get a good job. I think this would be a very good opportunity to get the training that I need and one that would be very good for me to persue.
