Why I Would Like to Become a Medical Transcriptionist
I have always dreamed of working in the medical field—to work with the doctors and the patients. But as fate would have it, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and cannot stand for a long time as is required with most of the fields of medicine. In this field, I can work with doctors in several fields instead of just one if I choose. Medical transcription is a career that would allow me to work at home and not just at the office. It would allow me to be able to support my family if something ever happened that my husband couldn’t work, or that he wasn’t here. This is a way that I can be depended on without going on or depending on disability. I wouldn’t have to depend on any one to support me if I had to. Some of the reasons that I would like to train with Future MT is that I can work at my own pace and get the course done as fast or as slow as I want. It also offers the amount of hours of dictation that I cannot find in any other schooling. Future MT studies many fields of medicine that you can work in. They also help you find a job after you complete the course. If you cannot find an online typing job in the right amount of time, they will continue to give you the support that you need to find one in a timely manner. I have not found another school that is willing to provide you with the support that Future MT offers. Some of the advantages of being an MT are that it would eliminate daycare and allow me to be a mother to my children while having a career. I would still be able to allow my kids to be in sports and attend their games. I could still be involved in their school activities. I would be at home when they got home from school. I would also be making some income while staying at home with my children and helping out with the bills. It would also help take some of the stress away and to be able to afford to do things that we normally are not able to. My career goals right now are to enroll in school and get an education in MT to be able to start a career. In a few years, I would like to have worked as an MT for at least one or two doctors and get the experience needed to maybe work for 3 maybe 4 doctors at this time. In the next five years, I would love to maybe start my own business as an MT with a few people underneath me. In about ten years, I would love to see the business grow and have many people working for me. I would love to see them getting their experience as medical transcriptionists and watch them grow and maybe even start their own businesses. It would just be awesome to see what would happen in the next ten to twenty years just to see where I would be. Hopefully I would be able to see my dreams come true and be a professional MT watching everyone grow as MTs under me.
